I'm not gay and I don't fear them. I'm not sending my kid to public schools either. I don't believe any real Christian parent would. In addition I think that churches should design scholarship funds to help send children in the congregation to private schools or open their own school.
I think what two people do in their private lives is their business. If they wish to enter into a social contract of marriage according to their faith tradition, that's their business. It's a private matter. Frankly, I don't even think the government should have a right to issue marriage licenses. It's a private matter. A private contract between to sovereign individuals and it's strictly their business.
Side note here....
I once heard a minister speaking about marriage. His personal belief was that he doesn't agree with or support any unbiblical marriages. Even those wherein the straight partners were divorced previously on unbiblical grounds. However, he believes that if two people are sleeping together they should be married and bound by legality regardless of gender or past marriages. He calls it a golden standard of marriage. So while he doesn't agree with homosexuality, he believes that if gays are going to live together and have sex, they should be legally responsible to one another. He accepts NO form of sexual conduct outside of a legally binding union.
I'm not sure if I support everything he thinks, but some of his points were provocative.
