You know me. I am anti-Political. But there are some boundary's that should be set.

Indeed there should be those boundaries. Generally, they should be conduct unbecoming a christian and heresy.

And almost midnight here. My witching hour and point of demarcation.
I have enjoyed this thread gentlemen. (DA, someday we'll have to meet and further discuss the implications of comparing present church structure to American history. I find such discussions stimulating, challenging and rewarding.)
Perhaps I'll return in another month or three and post a little more.
God Bless!

I dislike comparing the Church with American History or political systems... as the Church has an Apostolic model of governance clearly laid out in the NT ...
but once you seek to "democratize" it ... and set it up like a modern corporation the parallels become too stark to ignore.

Well folk, I am governmented out. I do see both sides of this deal. I see that there has been many travesties in the past, and likely will be some in the future as well. I also see that it is set up as a check and balance for the ministry, and when men of good report govern within it, it works appropriately.

"You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police. Yet in their hearts there is unspoken - unspeakable! - fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts! Words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home, all the more powerful because they are forbidden. These terrify them. A little mouse - a little tiny mouse! - of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic."
Winston Churchill

We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people. ~John F. Kennedy

EB,
I love the quotes and all ....but ....they kind of leave me wanting some commentary... it's sort of like when the Swordsman just posts scripture and your not sure exactly why he did so ....
