Those might be factors.
Maybe you are onto something - maybe not.

Can you think of other possibilities? Are South African Professors earning about the same as their American counterparts? What's the price of south African office space now days?

Of course I am a nobody, but there were several in attendance that were in enrolled in doctoral programs themselves...
Thanks, Hoove.

The cost of tuition deal is hard for me. I've scraped and paid for the minimum education I've gotten over the past decade, and even incurred a small amount of debt in the process. Someone like DKB, pastoring a good-size church, property/home-owner, author, etc... One wouldn't think money/price would be first on this priority list for finding a graduate program.

and it's a 2 year for each masters or doctors.

Clearly not on par with the same sort of criticisms LS was deserving of

  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Prax I think you misunderstood my thread because I said get your diploma today. Today wasn't intended to imply you could get it today but rather sign up and get started today.

I Posted the requirements and before people knew who I was talking about they assumed diploma mill.

Why?

Because it lacks the rigorous standards of a legit PhD from an American University. It was painfully obvious to everyone when no name was attached.

Respectfully, Prax, I don't think he's getting near the same criticism that LS got.

I do think that this can be chalked up in a related vain of scrutiny: why so many Apostolics with degrees shrouded in controversy? Why do I have to Google your school? Is it a fair question? Do you see a trend at all?

You say that, and yet, I have not heard him tout his own greatness and education.

I think he feels privileged and honored to be apart of the development of the first accredited OP institution offering post graduate studies.

Let me put it to you this way the whole program didn't cost as much as a single PhD course at a reputable US university.

That should make you pause.

If someone charges the cost of an estimate to clean your chimney you would probably stop and think, maybe I should check around some.

I think so too. He's not as stuck on his creds as some of the other charlatans out there.

But let's not kid. He cares. The ambition to get a PhD in theology: to learn as much as he could from the best educators, or to get street cred, status, etc? What do you think? It's okay to be honest.... while I feel I've adjusted my priorities in this area from status more to academics, kid you not that the degree is also about credibility and status.

Baron, could it also be that the reason why some thought "diploma mill" is because this thread is fresh on the hills of the other one where we tared and feathered a couple of men for their so called degrees?

It's clear the quality of this U. is not on par, but I wanted to caution against the notion that DKB didn't take any classes. He didn't need to take classes from this U. but he most likely did need to submit to a study program and may have taken classes anywhere else.

Im just trying to show, for anyone that is interested, that this is not the same as the other issue *(LS) and that we don't know that DKB did not take any classes. Clearly he is educated, even in theology. The quality of his education I would not bet any amount is on par or better than what DS gained
