Everyone's welcome to come to my place in LA on Monday night October 13th to celebrate the birth of Yeshua, the King of the Jews. We'll have a holy convocation and a solemn assembly. My Sukkah is small, but we're all family so we'll fit one way or another. If you can't make it on the 13th, that's OK because we'll be celebrating for seven more days. See you then!
Y'all are welcome to join us in East Texas on Oct 17th through 19th if that's closer.

God did it for us. Out of sheer generosity he put us in right standing with himself. A pure gift. He got us out of the mess we're in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. ~Romans 3:24 from The Message
Bro. ManOfWord, please accept my apology for not responding to your direct query to me.

The only thing I make from scratch is food. My sukkah is a kit that I purchased from Sukkah Depot.

...per rabbinic tradition.
My kit meets this rabbinic requirement, but I'm not bound by it.

Somewhere in between. In it, I eat my meals, say my a.m. & p.m. prayers, read The Word, have some holy convocations (including Shabbat), take a nap sometimes, but I don't spend the night in it. To me, the things I listed meet the requirement of 'dwelling.'
My daughter loves it. She thinks it's a super-sized dollhouse.

True, no one knows for sure, but when time permits, I'll start a thread in the General Discussion about the theory of Yeshua being born in autumn, during the Festival of Tabernacles.
I appreciate you ManOfWord, and your love for the Jewishness of our faith in Jesus. L'Shanah tova, v'shalom shalom!

Thank you for the kind words. Our Jewish heritage, IMO, is as precious as gold and sweet as honey, for out of it came the scriptures, since it was given to Moshe!
So many miss the deep things of scripture for failing to see the importance of studying their Jewish roots! Baruch Hashem!!!

Had a little kid who called my cellphone the other day. Obviously the kid was playing with someone's cell phone... The kid was developing his vocabulary... Didn't understand a word I was saying, like mommy or daddy, until i did my sponge bob imitation. The kid said sponebob as plain as day... I told the kid in my best sponge bob voice that santa claus was fake and if the kid didn't get any gifts, it was because his parents were too poor to buy any... The phone was immediately disconnected...
I hate this holiday. I may like it better if it were further away from Halloween. I may try to get in the z-mas spirit. I may find an elve's hat to put on the skull I have on my desk at work. That's pushing it for me.

Is it too late to nominate you for Scrooge on that other thread?
