Remember the bride was arrayed in fine line and WHITE. A good picture.
and what distintion to force upon the errant young bridgroom. Surely he can not be allowed to wear a black suit or tux??????

Bro. Epley, I would chide my own daughters about how inappropriate it would be to wear white, if they weren't virgins, God forbid. But I suppose, if I were a pastor, (which I'm not) I would have a hard time telling daughters who weren't my own what they could wear on their wedding day. And I don't know that it does a lot of good coming from the church. I could be wrong. I've been wrong before.

I've already discussed the importance of purity and the symbolism of the white wedding dress with my 11 and 9 year old daughters, and I will continue to discuss it with them at every opportunity.

Scarlet Letter was overstated...I didn't suspect that you made them wear harlot's RED...LOL!!!!

I suppose if its gently presented.... (the dress color)

Now, if someone is living in fornication, or refuses to repent...then a church wedding isn't appropriate at all. There's a staunch opinion for you.

I actually like this option better than the cream-colored dress.

I believe in young people. Many have grown up in our home and work for God today but like everyone we lose some too. I know that is natural but I want to do my best to help as many as I can.
I just had a preacher call me today and thank me for my patience with him when he was young...He was something else! I loved him anyway and today he and his family are fine christians and precious workers for the Lord. So I do know young people fight many battles and the lust of the flesh is one of them. I want to help keep our youth focused.

I think so. If it affected the outcome of the joy, I wouldn't make them wear any other color. If there was true repentance, I would let it go.

The couple I talked about confessed and apologized to the whole church, but they were still not allowed to go with their plans. This wasn't a UPC church, BTW.

The Mennonite church I was part of required this. I did not know public confession was something done in Pentecostal churches.
