Why did you think that? I've never stated that.

Are you planning on finding a Greek Church? Is the priest of your ROCOR Greek?

Why did you choose the Eastern Church in the first place?

I have no plans to find a Greek church and the closest one is about two hours away anyway. The priest of the ROCOR church is American (of Mexican heritage).

Short version - they are conservative and don't care what anyone thinks about it.
After I decided to leave the UPC (and Oneness), no one else seemed to have credibility AND be socially conservative as a whole. Since the Orthodox church literally wrote and compiled Scripture, seemed like a good idea and I do not regret it in the slightest. That doesn't mean it's perfect but they would never pretend that they are. I highly recommend it
I also like the accountability that the clergy have, and there are next to no clergy sexual abuse cases that I could find (and I looked pretty hard) unlike the Romans who...well...we all know that story. Perhaps because clergy can get married, it attracts a different type?
The transition was not immediate, tried some nondenom (barf) and some conservative Anglican along the way, among other things.

Honest response.... to see their clerical robes sorta contradicts that. I honestly can't see the apostles doing this sort of thing. Again, this is just my honest thought.
Another honest thought.... I sorta get the impression of a fleshly emphasis on such outward extravagance and not a spiritual emphasis.
And then there's this???
"Whereas Mary is not a substitute for Christ, she “intercedes before her Son for all humanity. We ceaselessly pray to her to intercede for us. Love and veneration of the Virgin is the soul of Orthodox piety”. Orthodoxy denies that Mary had other children by Joseph."

Didn't look hard enough. You never came across Nikolai Stremsky? He is pretty well known for his bouts with soiling his priestly garments.

I have a relative who was married to an Orthodox priest who was a sick piece of work. She ended up divorcing him. Also my mother in law, and her mother had their personal opinions of the Greek clergy. But, I don't bring these individuals up to discredit a religion. I just brought these people up purely due to your statement concerning piety of the clergy. My family members whether, Eastern Roman or Western Roman, their views which are formulated from being raised in these institutions. My wife hearing that you have kissed the ring of the priest just causes her to roll her eyes. Because, she was raised in Greek Orthodoxy, and it was part of her Greekness, as much as her religious experience with Jesus. When she came to a Pentecostal One God Jesus name altar she had to leave all the swinging incense, and lipstick smeared icons behind her. You on the other hand would be a tad more zealous because you are a convert to the hand kissers. Unlike your cradle orthodoxers. You made your decisions through a journey which led you where you "currently" are at this time. You weren't born in it, but you studied it, and could probably blow away anyone on Mount Athos, or raise the eyebrows of the Metropolitan with what you have gleaned. So, why are you here with us Heterodox?
