The Bible says Jesus has a father. Is that the same thing?

Re: Does God have a father?

i doubt that will have the intended effect tho, T, as we just reason that away with the "both man and God" argument. One merely needs to contemplate Not My will, but Thy will be done for that, perhaps.

Oneness 101 answers that.

If Jesus Christ is both man and God, then there is no 'just reason that away', rather the argument is shown to be a mere cavil.

You really need to take a basic logic class, I recommend Martin Cothran's Formal Logic.

um, poor choice of words; i think the argument is valid, actually. I meant to relate that no nail has really been hit while also allowing that Christ is not God.

Heb 1:8 KJV But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Rev 1:11-13 KJV Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. (12) And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; (13) And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

Rev 21:6-7 KJV And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. (7) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

'Nuff said.

Re: Does God have a father?

Jesus called Himself God and those who believe in Him his sons. Not pointless to me.
