Did you hear Pres. Obama use the "f.... deal" joke at the Correspondents dinner? ... Obama was good at joke telling. Good timing. Wish he was as good with his timing on the things that are important. (Just had to get in that little dig!!!)

"Bushy" in an affectionate manner... like Johnny or Sammy
I actually voted for Bush. No ill towards him. Wasn't happy with all decisions he made, and was happy with some of them
Sorry to hear about Obama's lame joke as well.

Yea, they had to bleep it. Few other things he's said ought to be bleeped!

I never liked it when Bush was made fun of, misrepresented, and mocked. Now, I DID like the things SNL did with him and the Gore debates. Those were hilarious, but I've heard Bush say he loved it too. And Frank Caliendo? Amazing!!! Bush and Caliendo met and Bush told him he loved his stuff.
But Caliendo teases him. BIG difference between teasing and making fun/mockery. Same thing with Rich Little. He used to tease Reagan and Reagan loved it.
But when Letterman trashes Bush? Whew. I have to turn off the TV. I can't take it. It hurts. He was our leader. Leaders MUST be respected. I can't listen to Limbaugh anymore. I just want handle the way he speaks of Obama. For me, he just takes it too far.
But in the spirit of "equal time", you do realize that Bush was a bit of a potty-mouth himself, right?

Re: With one wave of the popes hand.
I wonder if a joke at the expense of the Tea Party's name and/or actions at capital buildings would have as much acceptance on this forum as the Pelosi being slapped joke? A joke is a joke, is it not?

I can't believe you said that! Not against Bush! Do you know what potty-mouth means? j/k I think most of the politicians need to have a "mouth washing service" now and then! Who was that in congress the other day who used an ugly word so many times? Levin? wasn't it?

You should hear me, sometimes, when I'm playing golf!!
McCain has a legendary issue with language. I don't get all that bothered by it. It's just descriptive words. There's an episode of "Spongebob" in which they're called "Sentence enhancers."

That's the reason some of the UltraCons preach against golf, isn't it?
What I'd like to know is who and how did they determine what words are okay to say and what words are not okay to say, "dang it!"

Exactly, dang it!!
I like to refer to certain words as "socially unacceptable" but I don't think they're any more serious than that.

Do you imagine some of those fishermen disciples cussed like sailors? Then after the big catch in Luke 5, how did Peter speak about himself? In verse 8 it says he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, "Oh, sir, please leave us --I'm too much of a sinner for you to have around" (TLB)
Or how about Isaiah when he saw the Lord in His glory. He cried out, "My doom is sealed, for I am a foul-mouthed sinner, a member of a sinful, foul-mouthed race; and I have looked upon the King, the Lord of heaven's armies" ( Isaiah 6:5 TLB)

Re: With one wave of the popes hand.
A little "feisty rhetoric" would do us good now and then. Take us back to the days of Parliament. Senate decorum winks in session and flips the bird in a news interview with their respective cable interviewer afterward.
