Was a beautiful 105 in the Austin area today. Please note the sarcasm dripping from that sentence. I caught a ride home from work, there was no way I was going to walk half a mile in that heat under the 3:30 pm sun.

I think I should probably buy an umbrella tomorrow. I have to work again on Wed and don't really relish the thought of working after walking in the rain without one.

I received a call from relatives in Rockwall today. They told me it was 110* there. It's been a cool summer here this year just warmed up yesterday to around 60* . It's 58* here now at 4:45 pm.
We've had about a week straight of 100+ temps here in Western Arkansas. Yesterday some locations we're 105 and 106. I think the end of the week we're going to finally cool down and have a shot at some rain showers.
I'm trying to keep landscaping and a lawn a live and it's a full time job with 3 weeks of no rain. October can't get here fast enough for me.
