Mrs. CC1 had perfected the swoop / bun in JAX. While it looked amazingly simple she actually spent a lot of time trying to get it smooth. I always said that by the time she got ready for church she really needed church!
I can relate to Mrs. CC1. Many, many moons ago when my mother did her hair "up" for everything, including camping, I learned not to stand in or near the doorway of the bathroom. More times than I can count, a hairbrush would be flung out the door and with a LOT of force. Then the mutterings would start... "wish i was bald" "going to pull every last strand out if it takes two weeks" and many other comments that would probably earn me an infraction. Hair time was a dangerous time in our home.

I had such a problem with bar hair days on Sunday mornings that for several months I made myself go to church with "hippie hair", (straight, parted down the middle and tucked behind my ears), to try and kill the vanity.
