I'm not a card-carrying member. I attend a local UPC church, and my father and brother are card-carrying members, but I'm not.

Chaotic is right for once..lol. The truth is that the organization was desinged to be a fellowship not organizational movement. In a fellowship should not set or vote on rules like these. God makes the rules. Some of the verses people draw from for standards, tv and etc are taken out of context.

The fact is most of this stuff should be done at a congregational level not at a fellowship or organizational level. The disciples were not the "board" or Jesus' movement. Though they helped in areas a church would, money, etc. They were not put together to tell Jesus what and how to do things. Jesus assembled them so He could tell them what to do, when to do, and how to do it. In our days the organization was not set up to tell the people what to do, but it has ended that way.
