It gets me how some read that scripture to preach against wearing anything gold! They ignore the plaiting and the wearing of apparel.

plait (plt, plt)
n.
1. A braid, especially of hair.
2. A pleat.
tr.v. plaitˇed, plaitˇing, plaits
1. To braid.
2. To pleat.
3. To make by braiding.

The women plaid their hair and put on apparel, but won't wear gold because of this scripture!!

Oh consistency, where art thou?

That is like taking the scripture that says "wearing of gold" and claiming that means no one should wear gold, and not realizing that this would force "wearing of apparel" to require people to go naked!

1 Peter 3:3 KJV Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

You know, ADORNING is from the greek word KOSMOS, which means WORLD. This is saying do not let your WORLD, or arrangement and order, be these things, and not saying do not wear these things. Don't emphasize these things and make them your Life!

But seriously, when this life of woe and sorrow gets me down I need something eternal to pick me up. All of your fads and fashion styles have come and gone like the wind. And, no offence, but I don't think you're old enough to impress me with the scope of your wisdom. You sound like you're on in your '60's at most. I'll wait until your vision has seasoned a bit to encompass generations other than those immediately around your own.

In other words, take a bigger look.

Men and women are different critters and ought to be understood as such. Now, the Highlanders made the distinctions obvious in that the ladies wore dresses and the men wore kilts.

The kilts were of course a Hyperborian variant of the the old Roman short robe worn by men. That in turn was born of the older Greek knee length tunics.

All of your clamor about skirts and slacks is a novelty. The Bible is quite plain in its requirements. You should get back to the Bible and leave all of the fashion fuss and its worldly outlook behind.

Re: Cross Dressers

The Law of Moses was only given to Israelites anyway, so all you Gentile ladies are free wear yo' jeans.

Regarding the modesty issue, pants reveal much more of a man's form than they do a woman's form. Well, at least some men. LOL

Excellent point. You might even think of it in cosmological terms. As in, "What does your world revolve around?"

If you're merely a satellite of the beggary elements of this world, gold and silver and costly appearal, then your "world" can't be very important in the "heavens." Choose a bigger center of gravity! The sun, for example gives life, energy and warmth to its satellites.

Get something "at the center of your universe" that gives you life. John 3:36.

The key is modesty and distinction.

I would add comfort and fit as well as value and durability- but those are just my own preferences and wouldn't suggest it be a yoke for another.

Thank you....I have long said that. Men sitting on the platform need to wear those little drapes over them that they use for the those that fall out so we don't get to know them too well!!!
