The NRSV Bible also includes Psalm 151. Psalm 151 is found in some old manuscripts and is in the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Here is how Psalm 151 reads in my NRSV (there is no verse 13):

PSALM 151

This psalm is ascribed to David as his own composition (though it is outside the number of the 150 Psalms), after he had fought in single combat with Goliath.

1 I was small among my brothers,
....and the youngest in my father’s house;
I tended my father’s sheep.

2 My hands made a harp;
....my fingers fashioned a lyre.

3 And who will tell my Lord?
....The Lord himself; it is he who hears.

4 It was he who sent his messenger
....and took me from my father’s sheep,
....and anointed me with his anointing-oil.

5 My brothers were handsome and tall,
....but the Lord was not pleased with them.

6 I went out to meet the Philistine,
....and he cursed me by his idols.

7 But I drew his own sword;
....I beheaded him, and took away disgrace from the people of Israel.

Re: Apostolic Identity??

The term apostolic is subjective. No Biblical definition. Just a few random scriptures tied together. Catholics have an apostolic identity. Charismatics have an apostolic identity. Pentecostals have an apostolic identity. All three can substantiate their views.

Just allow me to be like Jesus. I'll leave the apostolic identity to the weak and feeble who feel they have to belong to something irrelevant to living for Christ.

Re: Apostolic Identity??

Act 4:13 ......they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Seems often the most important piece of identity is letting folks see our love for others.....

Re: Apostolic Identity??

This verse doesn't have anything to do with defining the word apostolic. Just says they noticed they were with Jesus.

Ever notice that Paul didn't call himself a christian or apostolic? He used terms like apostle, servant, slave, to identify himself to Christ. I don't recall Paul using the word apostolic to identify himself.

If you claim the apostolic moniker, are you willing to call yourself an apostle?

I've never claimed any moniker.....like you I just want folks to take note I've been with Jesus......and that i show His love to those around me....

I've seen folks that looked "Apostolic" but where Baptist and Mormans. The look is not what should define us, our actions and attitude should.
