thank you for posting that.
That truly blessed me.
Oh boy, now I've done it.
So Sam, I saw that someone posted something about not liking that song, "God's Wonderful People". So just for kicks and to make them feel bad.....uhhhh......you're gonna hate me......the whole flippin' forum is gonna hate me.....I'm in trouble......I made that story up. I was trying to make the guy feel bad; problem is, he disappeared and your truly blessed. Oh boy. Go ahead....yell at me.

I thought it was a great story. I was almost truly blessed.

I have not read the entire thread and am not sure if any of these songs have been mentioned. Here are a few that I have had a little difficulty in singing or even lip syncing the words.
"Can't Nobody Do Me Like Jesus. Can't Nobody Do Me Like the Lord"
(This just never seemed appropriate to me. Can't we express our thoughts and feelings in more appropriate terms?)
Yuck, I can't stand this song. The grammar is horrible.

No, I don't hate you.
I even showed that to my wife.
I thought it was great that someone 70 years old got to fulfill a lifelong dream like that. Maybe because I'll be 73 in a couple of months it was more appealing to me than to some of the others here.
I bit and you reeled me in good with that one.
I could even see me posting something like that.
My wife feels differently.
She was raised in Apostolic/Pentecost so she was raised in guilt and condemnation and would be afraid to ever post something fabricated like that for fear that God would "get" her.

I definately dont care for " Im a Pentecostal".. The people I saw on the video a couple yrs back looked mad and frowning.Scream singing is what I call it. Almost screaming the words into the mic. Many times people misunderstand us pentecostal folks so I sure dont want to further confuse them with this song. It just reeks of arrogance to me.

To make things worse, I said, "...and your truly blessed" rather than "you're", a mistake that is a MAJOR pet peeve with me. I'm in a slump. I believe I'll take the day off.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it, I've heard some doozies (doozy's?) in my lifetime... and some songs annoy me at one point in my life and then come to mean something to me later. Songs I liked at the time and now I think they're fluff... but anyhoo...
Right up there with terrible lyrics is this line in the song "He loves us, Oh how he loves us" . Verse 2...
"Heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss and my heart turns violently inside of my chest"
When we do that song at our church we change that line. Thankfully.
I love the song, otherwise.
Another one that comes to mind is "The more I seek you"... I think the premise of the song is great... it's the line "lay back against you and breath, feel your heart beat" that I can't sing to God with a straight face.
However, I'm sure there are lots of people out there who love those songs, so to each his own!
