Earned or given?

Honorary is given. Diploma purchases are given. Earned is going to a school, either online or in person, that requires the completion of all of the credits necessary to graduate with the degree. Not a one paper assignment for a PhD.

Art, if you earned them ... please tell me who conferred you a bachelor's and master's degree?

What was the nature of your course load and course work ... concentrations .... etc. ? Right amount of credits completed to achieve.

Finished gets paid.

I don't know what is worse.

A minister that knows it's a degree mill Ph.D., but touts it as real.

Or, a minister that actually believes himself that it's a real Ph.D.

In education we use the words standards and rigor because they mean something. They have value.
Amazing how some in the "standards" crowd don't apply these more rigorously in other areas of their walk.
