Re: Call to Holiness People: A Forgotten Command

Another good reason to have a large life insurance policy. Mine so big my wife would have a hard time grieving.

In regards to Dans post. It shows thehow far we have drifted from the cause of Christ.

the whole tithes/ one man system is greatly lacking.

I agree with Daniel. How many take the time to be kind to others, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, visit the jails? We have taken in the homeless and fed the hungry, I try to be kind to everyone. I remember those who fed me when I was hungry, and visited me when I was in jail. When we had our little fire, a Baptist preacher friend of one of my son's came and re-did our walls and ceilings, on his time off.

Excellent, godly post. There also is the issue of pastors turning over churches worth millions and being given a pittance for retirement.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, DA. Great post!

I hope I will not detract from the intention when I mention that there is also a great lesson in planning and stewardship that is sometimes a painful pill to swallow at times of loss, particularly when it comes to pastors and the ministry.

What do you mean "turning over churches worth millions"... do you imply they are sort of owners of the church real estate?

Pastors, like everyone else, should be responsible to save into the retirement plan they establish or live on SSI. I would NOT recommend the latter.

Re: Call to Holiness People: A Forgotten Command

Thanks, Dan. this is the kind of post I like to see - one that touches our hearts by the things that touches God's heart. and hopefully, our hearts will be changed by what God speaks to us through these reminders. When our hearts are changed, we will do our part in making life better for those who don't have the means or the way to improve their own life.
