What is the Biblical reason for getting married (if you get married)?
In the biblical sense, I think women got married because they were pretty much worthless without husbands or sons to take care of them. (What a choice, to be nobody or to be chattel!)

Yeah, or if she was a rape victim, the rapist had to marry her (it was his punishment, and she didn't appear to have any say in the matter -- that was that). But I'm actually thinking of a New Testament reason. I'm sure you can figure it out!

Oh yeah, it's better to marry than to burn.
As one who had a very bad marriage, I might want to contest that!
We all deserve eternal punishment because we are not perfect. (Yes, God gives us a way to escape that punishment, but that is a separate issue.) My question is: why? Why does God insist that we be perfect?

In fact, even if we do something wonderful, though not quite perfect, do we get any credit? No! See, everything we do that's any good at all is really God working through us. We're not capable of doing anything good, of our own volition. But when we mess up? Do something way, way short of perfect? Something bad? That's us.
(A post to another thread, a quotation from Chuck Swindoll from The Grace Awakening, reminded me of this, but I didn't want to tarnish that thread with my comments. I have a lot of respect for Chuck Swindoll, by the way. Awesome teacher. Very intelligent. Seems like a great guy. Not that he should get any credit for all that! )
