Aquila, you are so messed up it's not cool.

Porn is not healthy no matter how you look at it. It's just NOT.

You have NO IDEA what kind of world some people live in, some by choice and some by chance. It's nothing, nothing, nothing like your happy go lucky everyone's happy world that you paint here.

Sex addiction is so insanely real, porn addiction is real, and yeah..women are affected too. It makes my heart hurt soooooo much to read about a 17 year old girl struggling with this.

God does love her, SOOOO very much, so tenderly, so passionately, but what she's doing isn't normal or healthy. He doesn't want this for her because He knows.....

If you have never been a woman in the porn industry, or exposed to porn from a young age. As one of these girls were. You don't have a clue what you are talking about.

I didn't read down to the part where the 17 year old tells of viewing porn when she was 11 until someone else pointed it out. That's wrong with nothing right about it. In fact, that's criminal.

Children really are bing robbed of their innocence and that hurts everyone. And this isn't just a "new" or an "Internet" type of problem. This has been going on for a very long time. We all suffer the consequences as a society.

Hello Aquila,

I have a somewhat different view concerning the subject of self gratification. I believe God intended sexual pleasure to be a shared experience within the context of the marriage bond. The reason I believe this is because marriage itself is a shared experience. It's not about my needs or my wife's needs, it's about OUR needs- as two becoming "one flesh". I believe that if a spouse chooses to engage in self gratification, the focus shifts to satisfying the individual's need rather than focusing on the shared need of the couple.

I think the thing that is even more harmful is that self gratification has a root in the mind. Something is going on up there in the mind and unless those thoughts that lead to a desire for self gratification concern the wife, something is quite wrong with that picture.

I'd like to know how often a day she felt the need to look at it. If she looked at it once or twice a week, I'd not say it was an addiction. I'd say it was an interest. If she looked at it once a day... still even that might not be an "addiction". Now, if she looked at it nearly hourly and neglected life's responsibilities... that would be an addiction for sure.

It reminds me of someone telling someone else with a serious issue "just pray about it" them BAM!, expecting it to be gone.
Good points.

True. However, the one mentioned her concern with a future husband not being able to fulfill her.

While the viewing of such may be a "sin", I question that viewing such be labeled an "addiction" unless it causes one to neglect health, family, and responsiblities.
