I think the end was when the fellow AOG pastor that he had exposed as committing adultery followed JS to that sleazy hotel where he was shacked up with the sleazy street prostitute and took some tell tale pictures.
JS had great moral failures (I think we all know that), but there was a wonderful anointing of the Holy Spirit upon his ministry. He had some beautiful music and powerful preaching. His ministry helped me and my family get through many hard years. I will always be grateful for his influence on my life, and tremendously saddened at his failures and harm to the Body of Christ. I'll always love Jimmy Swaggart.

I've been blest listening to JS.
He did have an anointing.
I haven't heard him for a long time.
I hope he's still serving under God's anointing.
Can oratory skill and style be mistaken for an anointing?
yes,
and Jimmy was good at "crying" at the right time like lots of preachers are,
but,
I believe he was (and I hope still is) a sincere man of God.
Preachers use theatrics like crying at the right time in their sermons. It just happens. That's the way we do church here in the U.S. It's expected so it's done. He was an evangelist for years and an evangelist and a salesman are pretty close in their mo.
I just thought of an article I read about Jimmy Swaggart back in the nineteen fifties or sixties. I doubt if I still have it but I'm gonna look. It was something I kept but I may have thrown it out in the last 20 years or so.

Another great message is "Glor Follows Order" by Damon Thompson. Another is one of his that is good is "Are You a Who or an It?" This lastone makes you look at whether you are after a name, social status, etc or are you wanting to be remembered as an it. An it is in reference to in the Bible where it says that people were looking for a man (as the messiah) and the Bible say the were looking for a man and missed "it". "It" being the actual glory. The main question was are you wanting to be a name in a movement or do you want to be of IT the glory and the moving of God. It was an awesome message. I didn't even do it justice.
