Does God know that a lot of people get it wrong, when they think He is talking to them? Does He know that people sometimes die, when that happens? Does He know that some people say God said something when they know He really didn't, in order to control or harm others or to look important?
Does He know some people will not believe everything they hear, when someone tells them God said such and such? And some won't believe God ever spoke to anyone?
And does He really expect everyone to correctly determine who is right and who is wrong (whether innocently wrong, or lying)?

After a very long break, it is finally time to continue our popular series:
What You Believe
Part 10
Standards
I know what you're thinking. How can I include "Standards" in my series of What You (All) Believe? Simple. I have boiled it down for you, revealing the essence -- the essential, Apostolic belief regarding this very important topic, and you will all agree with it. And here is the result:
What you all believe about STANDARDS:
Standards ... (are you ready for it?) ...
... are ...
(here it comes!)
...
(are you on pins and needles?)
...
divisive.
There it is. That's what every AFFer who ever was and ever will be can agree on, and it is very likely the only thing you all agree on (for now), regarding standards. You all have opinions on what standards should be in force (if any!). Some of you think your opinions aren't even opinions, really -- they are God's commands. That's fine. You could be right. But others will disagree. Thus, division.
It can even lead to a parting of ways. Some feel it is so important that they can't even fellowship with others who don't see it their way. Others are adamant about their belief that it isn't all that important! That's right: there isn't even agreement about how important it is.
But there is hope, of course. The Holy Spirit is working hard at bringing unity. Leading all to truth. Yes, eventually, every believer will find out how God wants people to dress and groom. (And everyone who doesn't agree with God, of course, is not really a believer. Of course, there are some who feel this has already happened. )

And what, my friend, do "divisions" (i.e., differences, schisms, disunity) portend? There is, you know, an underlying "reason" for ALL things. If this is true, then tell me, I humbly beseech thee, what does the presence of "divisions" among those who proclaim themselves to be Christians, signify? And, please, provide an indisputable scriptural reference in support of your answer, and not just more of your "fair speeches" which only represent your "point of view" (which may, or may not, have a basis in fact).
I am truly interested in what you have to say in response to this question.

Thanks for the response! They've been few and far between, lately.
I'll respond to your question a bit later, or maybe tomorrow. Busy day.

Wow Timmy left church around the same time I did!!!
I stayed out of church altogether for about a year and a half. Then attended a non-pentecostal church for a few years, then left that church, too. Now I don't attend any church regularly.

You should though Timmy, don't you know church attendance is commanded in the bible :P So if you don't go to church your bound to go to hell :P jkjk
By the way I'm in a really sarcastic mood today FYI

The serious ones among us will say you're right, of course. Forsake not the assembling etc. More to the point, though, I'm going to hell for an even more fundamental reason: unbelief. Or, more specifically, since I actually do have belief, I have chosen the wrong things to believe in. Like I've said many times before, much to the annoyance of some (), I have guessed wrong.
