Re: Gabby's

I'm feeling so lazy this week!!! I have no motivation to do anything but the minor stuff - cooking, washing a few loads of clothes, picking up a little - that's about it!

Lazy, lazy week!!!!!

Re: Gabby's

Just for you Miss Tina...

My daughter called me at work asking me to bring ingredients home to make chicken primavera.

We traded 'chores' this morning. I told her I'd do the dishes if she did the cooking! I hate to cook, and she hates doing the dishes. (Like it's sooooo hard to load & unload a dishwasher! Sheesh!)

In other news...

I have been working for a Real Estate agent for about a year and a half now. I am her listing and marketing specialist. I put all of her houses for sale (listings) online, and have built her online presence.

I've been wanting to do more lately, and after having almost 3 weeks off for Christmas Holiday I had a lot of time to think about what I want to be when I grow up. I'm not content to just be a 'Girl Friday' for the rest of my life. My boss is the greatest at recognizing when I'm troubled, often before even I know it! We talked and she suggested I get my RE license and become her Showing Agent. All I have to do is take the Buyers to tour the homes, and when they are interested in making an offer, then my boss steps in with the legal paperwork.

I thought that would be PERFECT! So here I am, embarking on a new chapter in my life. Not sure how long it will take, but hopefully in just a few weeks I'll have my RE license.

How's that Tina?

The Mrs.,

I think that is GREAT!!! You will love this and be very good at it!

Best part is you don't have to get all bogged down with the paperwork - just get out and sell some houses!!!

Love it!

Re: Gabby's

I had off yesterday and what a day to be off! It was warm and sunny and such a nice break from the cold and wet weather we've been having.

A couple months ago I hit a HUGE pot hole and it damaged my wheel, so I put on my spare (it was a full size) until I was able to purchase a new wheel. Well, I had it in the trunk since before the hoildays - - just didn't want to take the time to go have it put on.

I went yesterday to Firestone and they switched out my good tire on my new wheel and mounted it and put my spare back in the trunk.

I head down the highway at 70mph to go meet a friend for lunch and look and and see my hood shaking - - great....they hadn't closed it properly. So, before my hood ripped off and wiped out half of I40, I pulled over to do a man's job and shut it properly!

I'm so glad that I noticed it wasn't shut before the safety shook loose and my hood flew off!

Good grief though - - how hard is it to shut a hood?

Okay! All is well now, but I'd rather ride in yours anyway!

If you are on Germantown Parkway you'll be able to find all those. The post office is on Macon - - right down from Cathedral or Praise.

Re: Gabby's

Thanks, The Mrs--it's about time someone revived Gabby's. Are we going to stay committed to keeping it alive this time?

I feel like we let STS down. I really miss her, and wish she'd re-register since her account was lost with the last purge of the system. I know she has "outgrown" AFF-- but she could come back just for "Gabby's". She was the lifeline of this place--and kept us all together.

Sadly, many of the people who used to post here no longer visit AFF. I especially miss STS, AG, and QE.

I slept late again today because I've been fighting off fever again with the ear infection--so I'm just starting my day with a large cup of coffee. At least the housework was all caught up yesterday so there's really not much else to do today other than get the kids schoolwork done.

I'd probably still have been in bed if Dad hadn't called me and said that he'd talked to my uncle and he's coming by sometime today to go up into my attic and see how much damage there is to the decking because of the roof leak that started this winter.

I'll type more of an update on other things for those that haven't already heard it all--after the coffee kicks in and I can type without the typos.

Hopefully some new ones will join in and bring Gabby's back to life.

Re: Gabby's

I'll gladly chime in; not sure what Gabby's is supposed to be all about, but I'm good at talking!
And the idea of a no debate thread sounds wonderful!

Congrats on the realty job, and best wishes on getting your license, btw, The Mrs. I had thought about doing that before I got my current job-it sounds like so much fun!

Then you will fit right in at Gabby's. Because talking is what it's all about. Just a place for the ladies (and any men who can behave themselves) to fellowship.

Watch out for Ferd though, he loves to run through Gabby's and pull hair.
