Perhaps your are leaving apps open on it. I charge my blackberry at night and sometimes every other night.
Nope. According to Verizon, they don't make smart batteries to go with the smart phones. They even changed my battery but no difference. I've never had this problem with any of my phones but my kids say they do the same thing...constantly charge them.

Shazam is my absolute FAVORITE application. if you hear a song while you're out somewhere and don't know what it's called, it detects it and lets you know. UrbanSpoon has found us SO many good restaurants in foreign and out of state places. Word Warp is a fun time consuming game that I enjoy.
Needless to say, I love my iPhone. And for the record, I've never paid for an app either!
