I wouldn't expect men to wear a suit to go hog hunting, not the proper clothing. Just as to wear the cameos to church would not be proper.

Only in your culture. In my church culture, it would be totally out of place. I saw a few men in suits today, but it was rare. And it will be the only Sunday of the year that they wear them. However if they want to wear them every week, I don't care. There is no proper dress code here.

I don't want a church where there is "the correct dress" to attend. What do you do with churches in other countries????

In parts of Kenya, at our remote churches, they are just proud when the women have on tops.

I will give a view from someone not in the UPC. When we have run into "fancy" UPC people they seem like they trying to out dress each other and look down on those that don't dress like them. That isn't even on Sunday!

Doesn't the Bible teach that a woman's beauty should come from inside, not dress? I do not see a biblical example that people decked out to gather together. If the people that dress to please the eye would see the pride in it, they may get embarrassed and start dressing humbly.

I think we should dress respectfully in public. I do not think we should draw attention to ourselves with our dress and fancy hair. There was nothing attractive about Jesus and we should be like Jesus.
