CAW Wants Part Ownership In Big 3

I just heard a blurb saying that the CAW (Canadian Auto Workers Union) said that they will give up benefits & take pay cuts, but they wish to have a stake in the ownership of the big 3.

You think that is a good move or not?

I think the best thing that could happen is for the big three to go into bankruptsy, disolve all contracts with unions and come out a better company with a vastly less expensive colletive barganing agreement.

Basically i think the unions are a huge part of the problem with the American Auto companies.

Well, I think the unions were just getting on the gravy train along with the executives when things were good.
However things don't stay good and no company is entitled to market share regardless of if the product is good or not.

Basically I am trying to say that the North American Auto industry has been slow to adapt & change.

im not in a very forgiving mood today. I say break the unions back, fire every exeuctive that can be fired and give them a hundred pound gold brick for a parachute, push them out of the top floor of the crysler building and tell them they can keep the gold brick parachute if they survive the sudden stop at the end of the fall.

replace the board of directors with regular folk and start making good cars at a good price with a solid balance sheet.

but that's just me.
