Are there folks out there who saw this and see more of this kind of stuff coming our way?
Or are most of you like me in hoping these are just isolated events?
Let me make a few observations
I attended a gun show with my husband and son last weekend, as we walked by the tables, we heard talk between dealers and customers, and the panic in their voices and conversations about Obama . The right wing conservatives are deathly afraid of the anti-gun stance represented by Obama. Their fear and apparently, their one and only major fear is that they won’t be allowed to buy and sell guns or own assault rifles anymore.
This crowd absolutely disgust me, because they represent some of the worst that is wrong with America. I have absolutely no problem at all with firearms ownership, I believe that ALL citizens should be WELL ARMED at ALL TIMES without government permissions slips, the right to keep and bear arms shall NOT be infringed for ANY reason), but because of their incredible misguided stupidity on the issue of gun ownership and the fascism that they have ENDORSED, taking their guns away represents absolutely what SHOULD HAPPEN. It would FINALLY wake them up from their incredible apathy and lethargy and they just MIGHT finally get off their lazy, fat butts and do something about what has turned this country into what is now the laughing stock of the entire world.

I think they are isolated incidents. There are idiots on all sides of the political perspectives. People make choices, and sometimes they are not the only ones that have to live with the consequences.

I think this election has raised the nasty racial issues of the past to some degree. I can't say with any certainty how much it is or whether it's widespread or isolated. I just know that here in the south, I've heard the N word used more in the last week than I have in my entire lifetime. People who I didn't think still had that word in their vocabulary have used it discussing Obama being elected.
I've heard it in restaraunts, businesses, and even in a small group of "church" (not my church thank God) people that I was in. I told one man that the N word sickened me and that it had no place in today's society, IMO, and he shut it up after that. I was in Dallas yesterday on a quick business trip, and was surprised at how derogatory people were talking about Obama in the restaraunt yesterday. A lot of it comes from older white people which I guess shouldn't surprise me.
I understand that people have ideological and philosophical differences with him on policy and moral issues. That's a part of the system that makes this country great. What upsets me is when people take it beyond that into blatant racism that has no place in this country and especially among Christians.

Enough said! Night
Huh? How coud wanting the freedom to bear arms have anything to do with our country being a laughingstock??

I live in the City of Forest Park, OH. I've lived here since 1971.
According to our City website we have 19,643 people living in 7,505 households in an area of 6.337 square miles.
I am white or Caucasian and am therefore a minority here.
I have no political signs in my front yard.
I am somewhat fearful of publicly expressing any political opinion because I am a minority here.
Neighbors a few doors up the street have several signs in their front yard. Each is for a Republican candidate.
This family is also white or Caucasian.
Their sign for McCain/Palin has been systematically knocked down and damaged.
My neighbor said it looked like it had been slashed but he has dutifully put it back up.
Now the sign is gone. Someone took it.
They now have a new sign in its place which is shown below.
Is this is a price you pay for living in a community which is about two thirds African American?

I think its a pattern. I think it will cool down a bit after the inauguration, but I still think you'll see knuckleheads acting up for the next 4 years (or 8 years?).
It wouldn't surprise me to see the Secret Service breaking up several assassination plots each year of Obama's presidency.

I checked in the Fairfield Inn off of Midway Ave. at 1 a.m. Tuesday morning and I was out of there by 3:00 yesterday afternoon. I ate a super fast lunch at Luby's, of all places, over in Addison. You didn't miss anything special at all for lunch. Next time I'm down there, dinner is on me.
