We deal with it much in the same manner. What we do that might be slightly different is that if someone stands up and has questions concerning doctrine we take care of it and settle it, right at that moment. Our rule is the first person who gets upset loses. In other words if you have the truth you shouldn't have to raise your voice to convey that truth, or get ugly. If anyone gets loud the others and I will show them that they are getting upset and therefore they are causing damage to their position. If they have truth then everyone would be more than pleased to hear it and consider it. Yet, if they are acting like Godzilla, or Maid Marianne we will calmly and politely ask them to sit down.

Sounds reasonable to me EB.

Fortunatley we rarely have to put into practice our policy.

Pretty sane group of people here.

Recently we had a transfer from another UPC come in and try to bend about three peoples ears as to what he thought of what was going on with his former pastor and church.

After three rebuffs, he learned to keep his complaints to him self

It was closed for about five minutes so that posting could stop while admin made a post.

I agree Renda. Looks more like a question to me....and people have been restricted and banned for no other reason than they were not in GOB club.

but it is so easy to call someone a liar these days.

NLYP - if we posted reponses to many of your thread starters we could also say they were lies, but we don't.

When people have personal problems with others we just have them take care of it with those they have the problem with. No need for drama, we come together to have church, not crisis. Doctrine is a church issue and therefore needs to be dealt with in a timely fashion.

This was confirmed by the owner and an admin. Weeding out members with zero or one post

And now People are wondering WHAT ARE THEY HIDING???
This is true - - many would wonder if they no longer could sign on. However, it was explained that an email was sent that would explain. Okay - still not a lie.

People who are signed up with their real names, real identities, who have confirmed are now on the "unconfirmed lurkers" list.
Confirmed with owner and an admin - true. Same reason as above.

Has JP gone WPF and banned all the ones that may not agree with their position? Questions can't be lies - can they?

The owner and I spoke - there's no problem with this thread - just the personal attacks. Those attacks are no longer here and I hope they stay gone.
