I heard the same story, that a very well known, very respected (still very respected) pastor said a bunch of expletives while preaching--I think this was back in the 90's.

Then when he did (as you said) "why are you so shocked? You hear these words in the videos you bring in your house"

I had the feeling, he was showing what we are allowing in our homes-but if we were to hear it in church we wouldn't stand for it.--And if so, why do you allow it in your home?

You know I am sure that you have just added a whole lot of grief to yourself but in reading the above statement, considering what I would have felt like hearing that profanity utterred and THEN HEARD THE LAST STATEMENT I can tell you, It very well would have been a life changing moment for me!

I would not want to see or hear that done in our midst, would hope that there would be OTHER ways to get the desired result , but in all honesty, I applaud the guy! In fact if I KNEW Him I would be taking him out for a steak dinner right now!


Here's a question...are we more concerned about a can of beer and a four letter word than the fact that 200,000 children will die tonight due to lack of clean water...or that tens of thousands of Americans are dying from treatable illnesses every year simply because they can't afford the treatments they need?


Well the answer of course will come in the followup to your post! I think you and I already know what it is that will get the rise out of people!
