Yet this is a work that we do in response to Gods convicting spirit. So is this not "salvation by works"?

If the purpose of baptism is to remit sins, then it is a work.
If the purpose of baptism is in recognition of a covenant formed because one embraces the work of Calvary then it is not.

I am speaking of my culture. I know nothing of this Spanish Apostolic group that you mention. My journey began with the whites in the United Pentecostal Church International.

I wonder if when you were growing up most UPC churches would even have had a black man in the pulpit at all? At best they would have been few and far between.....

That's what I think would happen, JMHO.

That would just be a mis-use of scripture. In this context, to them, "follow peace with all men" would mean "submit to man made extra-biblical rules of men, no matter how dumb the rule is, just to keep peace with them" (rather than take a stand against their man-made foolishness!).
Personally, I've had facial hair as long as I can remember, and have no intention of shaving it all off anytime soon. If any pastor told me I could come preach for him but only if I become clean shaven, I'd tell him to take a hike, and have a nice day ( not using those words, of course).

Yes or no?

I don't know about GC, but, at my old church - no way. And if he had a wedding band on (the picture doesn't show) he would have to take it off.
Or if any music minister were to come over and teach a choir clinic he would have to be clean shaven, no wedding bands and 3/4 length sleeves. That is still to this day.

Were all 3,000 on the day of Pentecost who were added to the Church baptized immediately? I'd say, probably not, just out of feasibility.
Were those that were added not saved?
If not, why were they mentioned?

"Probably not?"
To me, that's just a bit too speculative, bro.
Huge multitudes came to see John to be baptized, and he and his disciples got the job done. So its really not that hard to imagine that the Apostles and other saints baptizing 3000 people that day Keep in mind that when Peter was speaking to them it was just the 3rd hour of the day (9 a.m.) so it was still very early. They would have lots of time to get it all the baptisms done .

Re: Would This Man be Welcome to Preach at Confere
How sad that one of the most greatly used Apostolic preachers of the 20th century would be unwelcome to preach in many/most UPC's today because he had facial hair.
And how stupid. Based on that policy, Jesus couldn't preach in their churches either, since he had facial hair.
(Teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Absurd.)

The majority of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World community accepted both the liturgical change and a "Jesus Name" or Oneness approach to understanding God.
Among those who accepted the Oneness doctrine in the early period was Elder Garfield Thomas Haywood, an African American minister from Indianapolis, who pastored a very successful Pentecostal church on Indianapolis that had, in 1913, between 400-500 members. The racial make up of the congregation was about 50% African American and 50% white. The name of the church was Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly.
Christ Temple was one of the largest Pentecostal churches and congregations in the world. Bishop Haywood was rebaptized in the name of Jesus in approximately 1913. Subsequently, he rebaptized his entire congregation.
I wonder what Daniel would say about this?

I, of course never met him, far to young. He wrote a song that many churches used to sing. I had read much about him. My father had great respect for him. He was, from all accounts, a might man of God.
