I wouldn't necessarily say the women's conf. has been hyped. The difference is the ladies have a committee which works in conjunction with the district board and they have a director of promotions. The women have a ladies conference but their main focus is fund-raising for Mother's Memorial which buys appliances for foreign missionaries and supports other projects. Last year the WD decided to incorporate men's ministries and appointed a director.

Prax refuses to attend this conference yet he whines and complains
because there's nothing going on - some folks just like to have
something to grumble about

He had a hugely successful series called the Truth Behind Hip-Hop that went directly after those who were attempting to bring the Hip Hop culture into the church. He has gone after many of the "Golden Calves" in the religious world, and I do not beliefe that it is out of a personal vendetta. He seems very passionate about what is creeping into the church. He has been very vocal about Jakes using Steve Harvey and Pattie Labelle at MegaFest (he is not a big fan of Mega Fest in general)...especially as they continue their secular careers.

We showed the Truth Behind Hip Hop series to our youth and to our community, and years later it is still having an impact.

When I was in Iraq, I had a Soldier ask me if I had that sermon on cd. I wish I did. Not only have we showed that series at my Dad's church, we bought copies and made copies and gave them out to others.

The series is EXTREMELY informative and POWERFUL!

His criticisms of Bishop Jakes should not have been posted publicly-- in this he's doing more harm than good, I think.

The Lord has really used Bishop Jakes to touch the lives of countless thousands.
