Maybe that was what Paul was trying to warn us about in Galations. You know, don't mix the two kind of thing.

If this website is accurate, the thread starter was not only online, but was viewing this thread when I made my request for clarification. I activated the refresh function for several minutes after making my request and the thread starter's user name remained listed as a viewer of the thread.
Again, thank you for promoting consideration of others.

I was not online when you were requesting clarification, because my wife (OnenessWoman) was online and we only have dialup.

Most of the time they are just studying compounds in a lab, not out dancing sky clad with native witch doctors

Brother, I didn't say that was the only place they go. I know they are studying cures for lots of illnesses without having gone to the Amazon in search for a cure. They still, however, go into the Amazon to learn what they can from medicine men and witchdoctors. I just saw a program on this a couple of weeks ago on Discovery Channel. It was actually pretty fascinating. I mean, how did these natives figure out that this root mixed with that bark, this leaf, and whatnot would cure X? Who taught them what they know? It's not like they have laboratories to test this stuff out.

Look up some of the medications today and look at the many side affects, that is why they say to don't drive or operate machinery. This is one of the reasons James don't take anything and just prays for himself. It works.
Look at the kids today. They are taking the drugs from the cabinets and getting high from them. If that isn't mind altering, then I guess I don't know what it is.

So, you are only against the ones that alter the mind?

They go to learn about herbs, not witchcraft though.
My point is just using herbs to heal someone or alleviate symptoms does not equal witchcraft.

Re: Witchcraft = medication
few drugs are mind altering. The reason they say not to drive is because they cause drowsiness

They still go to the medicine men and witch doctors, Prax. I saw it with my own two eyes. The medicine man told his men what he needed, they went out and got what he asked for, and he then cooked up his brew. The guy that was there with the pharmaceutical company took some of bark, roots, and whatever else the medicine man used, along with a sample of the end product, so they could study it back at the lab. I find it incredible that anyone would deny that this is where pharmacology was born, but hey, whatever works. In fact, part of the reason there is such an uproar about the Amazon going bye bye is because we've only just begun learning everything there is to learn about treating and curing disease from it.

It's the misapplication of the one scripture that shows what a pharmacist is and the definition says, "a druggist or poisoner". The other scriptures show that witchcraft deals with divination. Galatian 5:20 does not deal with divination.
