Thanks for the heads up Margie!
Hey, did you hear anything about the dispatch job?
|
Carey, the nephew you know - is that Mark or Tim?? Red-headed fellas, right?
Yes, you will enjoy MP. Are you going to be right IN Chicago? Or will you be in a suburb?
The police chief here has decided that for now, he has an officer who has been off duty because of rotator cuff surgery. His doctor has released him for desk duty, but not active duty. So the chief is going to be using him temporarily as the dispatcher. After the officer gets released for full time active duty, he will then decide whether he wants to keep the dispatching done here out of our station or whether he'd rather have it done from the county 911. If he decides to do it that way, it will make the job here in town a part-time position just doing paperwork. I wouldn't mind the work. But the biggest reason I am even considering the job is because of the benefits. We have great benefits right now. But if anything happens to Walt, we'll have none. And with his aorta still dissected, that will always be a possibility. So I would like to have something in place "just in case". However, I'm not expecting anything to happen - God DID heal him, after all
So basically, I'm just sitting here biding my time and waiting to see where God is going to take me. I'm willing to do whatever He wants.

Neither one...his name is Jathan...he could be a cousin maybe, I've forgotten by now!
We will be in the suburbs west of Chicago in a very rural area...it's beautiful! The landscape is very similar to Oregon only no mountains and ocean and not quite so many trees.
Thanks for the update on the dispatch job. The Lord knows and surely there's a reason for the delay if this is what God has planned for you. I understand your reason for wanting the job...with all that Walt has been through, you need good benefits!

Well this has been an outstanding day, folks!
We've had a couple visiting our church from the country of Brazil for the past 3 weeks. Their names are Marcos and Michelle. Marcos spoke this morning for church and talk about moving!! Oh my goodness!! He showed pictures of an area in Brazilia where the people live in cardboard houses and worse and they make their living by searching through the city dump for anything that is marketable or usable. And then he showed a movie (that HE took!!) of a service that happens once a year there among the satanists. At this service, the people actually invite the demons to come into them and take over!! Then he shared how these are the two kinds of backgrounds that he and his wife, Michelle, come from. And how the only reason they are not still in those situations is because a MISSIONARY came to Brazil from the US and taught them about the love of God. He told us, "Sometimes you get to have a missionary come to your church to tell you what God is doing in a foreign country. I am standing here in front of you today so you can see a PRODUCT of what God is doing because someone is answering the call to be God's servant in Brazil".
After church, we had already made arrangements weeks ago, and we got to take them out to lunch and then spend the afternoon with them. What a great couple!! We had such a fabulous time!!
So, it's been a terrific day. How was yours?

Dear Ladies & RonB,
I have not had time to catch up on the threads and posts but I will this week. I just wanted to extend my thanks to all those who prayed for my family and I through the past week as my son was married. The wedding was beautiful, organized, and went off without a hitch. The Bride and Groom are happily honeymooning in Gatlinberg and the Panhandle of Florida. I will post pictures as renda helps me.
Love & Blessings, Rhoni

Thank-you Sis,
You know, the Lord is good to us even when we don't have everything all together. The wedding was blessed because of all the prayers that went up. The peace, although temporary, was enough to help us through one more very volatile family gathering.
I thank Jehoveh Shalom.

Good Monday Morning!!!!!!! It is cold and rainy here! And it is supposed to rain all week long. The worst part is that it is still too cold at night for the dogs to stay outside and their kennel collapsed this winter so my husband had to fix it before we can kick them back out, so I am going to have to deal with their muddy paws all week long as they go in and out. And they are both good sized dogs and my kitchen floor is WHITE!!!!!!!!!! I will NEVER get a white linoleum floor again!!!!!!!
Ya'll are gonna have to say a prayer for my husband - he has been hanging drywall on our ceiling this weekend and has been having a VERY hard time!!! THere has been one problem after another plus it is hard work since it is all above the head and it is heavy! Needless to say his patience was being tried!!!
Rhoni, I am happy for you that you got to go to your sons wedding and all went well. I can't wait to see pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW QE, The baby is shorty to arrive!!!! How exciting!
I had to tape and float some drywall on the ceiling at our church. The regular guy was not regular and my pastor asked me to do it because I had been watching him tape and float the sanctuary. Now that is some fun stuff - but hanging it - It is heavy!
I know what you mean about the mud! My son is coming home from work with mud all over his pants. I told my husband, "You're his boss, put him on some equipment! I'm sick of all this mud!" LOL!
