I guess it is a fairly recent development.

Was it the "Young Conservative Preacher" thread?

By the way slander is spoken word, not written. Written words about someone living, impugning that persons character is defamation.

Was any living person named in the post?

What is ‘slander’?

Slander is a spoken defamation. Defamation or "defamation of character," is spoken or written words that falsely and negatively reflect on a living person's reputation.

There are attorneys who specialize in defamation lawsuits. You can find a listing of specialists in your area at AttorneyPages.com.

Names directly named and not even initials.

I did not make my speculations public, but I don't mind.

And besides, it can be settled real easy--if Deacon Blues says he didn't write it, I will certainly accept his word.

But I recall a piece he wrote as Ubiquitous on FCF or NFCF one that was very, very similar in style.

He wrote a commentary on various possibilites for GS that showed a lot of knowledge about the inner political workings of the UPC.

If he says he did not write it, I will believe him.

But I don't think it is at all correct to say "slander" because I make an observation that the style and tone are like DB.

I thought we were still allowed to express opinions.
I wasn't speaking of you being slanderous for thinking it might be DB.

However, there were some pretty slanderous things being said about the author of that piece and if the rumor is that it's DB, then that could be seen as slanderous toward DB as the piece itself.

I never had a problem with Tampa.

Tulsa -- men have the power of choice and to choose. I choose to not support the Tulsa deal but I don't hate anyone for doing what they feel is in their best interests.

Live and let live!

I don't believe the author of the young ministers guideline had to have an inside track. I knew about all the things in that thread and I most certainly do not have an inside track. If the author was a long time lurker on this site he would have been in the know.

I did not mean to open a can of worms but I thought the best way to find out was just to ask. I certainly have not accused him I have no idea who wrote it? But he can answer for himself if he will?
