What are you talking about????? It doesn't make any sense to me. Who do you think shares the "blame"?

Seems it is still the most controversial issue. Seems the Oneness Doctrine is not the dividing issue. But "Holiness Standards" as stated in the UPCI manual have been dividing good folks for years.

The reason, IMHO for this is the ambiguity of what constitutes "Holiness" as set forth in this "sacred document" -- There really is no STANDARD of holiness, as it varies from pastor to pastor, church to church, district to district. And it depends on which "club" your pastor has hitched his wagon to as to which of the standards are most important or what emphasis is placed on skirt length, TV watching, etc.

It's confusing. God is not the author of confusion.

To reword the manual's Standards of Holiness would be a great relief to many who just don't get it. A broader statement encouraging believers to use Holy Ghost discernment regarding making moral choices as to the movies they watch, or TV programs viewed, dressing in a modest fashion, etc. could make all the difference. Perhaps all the acrimony would be dissolved by dispensing with the laundry list and in agreeing that Christians should live in a manner that brings glory and honor to the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Amen to you, Dora!

Very simple. IF the UPC wanted to keep the Org together as it was, they should have thought about Res 4 prior to voting it in. I am not saying they were wrong to vote it in, but the natual result expected would be that those that view tv watching as sinful would leave and do something else.

IF there was not a NEED for another org to form due to Res 4 passing, then there would be no Tulsa.

While I understand KH's reason for writing his letter, I think it is poor taste to state that the Tulsa meeting will come to naught. One man in the bible was a little wiser, and said that it is best to let them be, because if it isn't God, they will fall apart. But if it is, then they would be found fighting against God himself.

All in all, it is just politics.

I am literally laughing out loud. I don't know if you're serious, but this is funny!
I guess we all see things in different ways. God bless you anyway, St. Matt!

It is a pacifist type of statement by someone walking a barbed-wire tight rope.

So in order to keep peace you propose people allow a certain group to continue to force unscriptural mandates on others?

Resoultion 4 does not force those against television to use television. It gives those who want to use television the opportunity to do so.

Unlike 1992 AS which forced people to decide to keep their affiliation, the 2007 tv resolution does not force anyone to leave the organization IF the do not advertise on television. The blame for the division can only be logically creditied to one side, the side who wants to leave.

He speaks very well and with authority! I am proud of KH!
That sure is a nice new age sentiment. Thank you so much.
