Queen Elizabeth named as world glamour icon by Vogue magazine

LONDON - Queen Elizabeth has been named one of the world's most glamorous women by fashion bible Vogue.

British Vogue's December issue includes the 81-year-old monarch on its 50-name "Definitive List of Today's Glamorous Women," calling her "as glamorous in her brogues and headscarf in Balmoral as she is wearing the crown jewels."

The queen favors conservative but often brightly colored ensembles for her public appearances, accessorized with sensible shoes and handbags.

The magazine noted that glamour "is about how you wear something, not about what you wear. You can't buy glamour, and you can't fake it."

Also on the Vogue list are models Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer, novelist Zadie Smith and actress Helen Mirren, who played the British monarch in Oscar-winning film "The Queen."

I've arrived in Hong Kong after a 12 hour flight from Vancouver. They are 16 hours ahead of Vancouver, so I am really struggling with jet lag right now. I very much want to go to sleep and it's only 3:28PM on Tuesday afternoon.

I flew out for the first time on the new Oasis Airline. It is owned by a Chinese pastor. I am very impressed with both the plane (747 lots of room) and the service. And the price is great. Only $787.00 round trip. Had I waited one week I could have flown for $100.00 less because of a discount to anyone over 55. I've heard since arriving that the owner offers one free trip per year to pastors wanting to fly to HK. I'm going to check it out.

but it's cause for controversy for people who are afraid that a light means the end of buggies.

A buggy with an LED light is still a buggy; the light doesn't make it a car.

It's dark out there, and more people will see the buggy if it has a light.
