I thought it was common knowledge that if someone didn't pay tithes and give offerings, they would be cursed. From what I understand, if you don't pay tithes, your kids will get sick and you will have to spend money at the doctor, or your car will break down and you will have to spend money to get the car fixed. If someone had paid tithe, these things wouldn't happen.

That "spilled" over into sunday school and childrens church.

We wouldn't let the kids out of class to go. I remember a couple of them wetting their pants.

I can't imangine the "memorys" of this, these poor kids have in their heads.

Yes we were told to not leave during preaching, but many did anyway....never were told to make the kids hold it...that is just plain cruel!

Thank you me too..... It does make me sad sometimes to think about how scared I was of everything as a child.

that is very similar the the magic Hair doctrine that Sister Ruth taught

She told the women their men would never stray if they didn't cut their hair ??????????????????

ummmmm, wonder if she re-thought after her chain of events????

OK then we know who has paid tithes and who has not by the ones that have sick kids, and their car breaks down....NOW I know who they are!!!!!!

Is this still taught? It seems to be that after her chain of events, the magic hair doctrine would disappear. I have never heard it preached but I have heard people recommend her books which leads me to believe they agree with her.
