Any moving picture was for the hell bound only. You could not even take a video of your children. Dresses had to be below the calf, no amusement parks unless you went to branson because .... drum roll.... the pastor went to branson. Interesting how we allow in our passions what we will preach against in other people's passions.

carey, you are right, many that have not been around it cannot comprehend it. People, trust me, they are out there!! even in the year 2007!!

We had one in our area (back in the 80s & 90s) who use to beat his members up physically if they disobeyed him.

I have a friend who told me about another one in his area who had a paddle in his office and would give grown Men and women a whipping for breaking the standards or rules

Our preacher had prayed and prayed and decided that God told him we could go to An amusement park.. We went and when we got back God told him we should not have gone. We had to repent of our sin of going to the Amusement Park! I did not think God changed his mind......

NO movies, No organized sports, Disneyland was OK though....dresses...long...NO splits for a long time...they were allowing them when I left...but not on the platform???

It is a big one....fear was by far the biggest....all these stories about people who left church .....and got ran over by a car!!!!!! ON and on it went....
