Who and What were the aboriginal peoples of Canada ?

I would use the word indigenous

I thought the term "indians" had fallen out of favOur (spelled it that way out of deference to the Canadians

Our natives here are called by most ,First Nation people,a term they prefer.we are fortunate to have several attending our church and have had a First Nation outreach for sometime,with a weekly service on one of the reserves.
