What about Sister Wallace? She still has the OT Pentecostal look!

True, but when her health permitted it she was always working in the bookstore during services. I don't think she is there much anymore after she broke her hip.

Occasionally I have seen what appears to be a woman in bundage only to discover upon closer inspection that she has earrings or other jewelry on.

As I said earlier I did see four or five Sunday's in a row an older couple and grown daughter I am guessing that looked old time Pentecostal.

Then there is the occasional visitor. Sometimes relatives of exUPC members are there.

For the most part though you would be hard pressed out of the 2,000 folks there in each of the two Sunday am services to find a woman with uncut hair.

I am guessing that probably over 90% don't even know what the UPC or old time Pentecost is and if they do it is only a casual observation.

Don't take offence, but...

Does GOD ever show up?

Just wondering.

Absolutely! I have only been in about two "dead" services in over eight years of being here.

So virtualy every service there is a wonderful presence of God, praise and worship, the word of God put forth, people's spiritual lives strengthened and lives changed.

All of that and without buns. Amazing huh?

As far as to the "no offense" it was obviously meant as a cut and insult so yes offense was taken.

Ooooooooh, it was not meant that way. It WAS an honest question since I've never been there.

But if you insisit on being offended, then I will apologize...humbly and sincerely...from the bottom of my heart.

We have both been on the same boards long enough for you to have read many posts of mine about services and things happening at my church so I don't buy the explanation that it was "an honest question since I have never been there".

Don't get me wrong now. I am not losing any sleep over it and I am not angry. I did take offense though. However that comes with the territory. If I want to participate in an old time Pentecostal board with that mindset I expect these kinds of responses cause we all know that God only shows up in services where there is a "strong standard" and people are "holiness".

CC...

There was an element of a good humored dig in it...but it WAS honest and sincere too. You detected the dig without detecting the honest, good humored dig.

Again, I'm sorry. I meant no offence.

I understand. You have the same dry sense of humor that gets me in trouble!

Brother Strange,

You always get in trouble when you go asking greasy-gracers questions they aren't qualified to answer.
