I admit I took a second look when I saw the pictures. I have not been out of the UC part too long, but I noticed the fun and fellowship. There is no need to point out someones dress code, IMO. I believe that the end time will see a great revival. Infact, the people that will take part in the revival will not look or dress as the old church has. Brother, I have viewed several of your posts and it is clear you are way on the conservative side. That is fine with me. I have no problems with others convictions. Though I am a little surprised that the first thing mentioned was about the clothing in the photo. You said,"first impressions are the most lasting." You are correct. Would you want everyone to think of you as they do in their first impression? I know I would not.

Those kids need to cover up their hide! Hey, please understand my heart it's just even as you said, you "took a second look" , and so did I.
I live in an area where the people come down here to get in the sun and fun.
They wear next to nothing and they have churches where they go to attend and can let it all hang out. I believe that the holiness that Jesus said was beautiful was the holiness that covered and was not aprons. Jesus was not only concerned with the inside but he was interested in the outside because He said it was beautiful. We first need to clean the inside and then the outside would be also clean. Modesty is the opposite of extreme.
It was said from a pulpit once that "with Elder Benincasa you either hate him or you love him." I had a minister Brother who took offence to what the other Brother said from the pulpit about me. I told the Brother who had taken offence that it was a truth, and with that truth comes because of personal perception.
We are running with all different attitudes and styles and while we run we will make some mad, sad, happy, and glad. If we please everybody will just be good peace KEEPERS. If we do what we are called to do will be good peacemakers.
Jesus never pushed or forced, he just spoke and there were those who said Hosanna and those who said crucify Him!
Two different perception towards the same man.
Lord bless you.

CC1,
I really was a bit surprised at what the women were wearing on the first page of the magazine. The women in the back had a reallllllly lowcut blouse on. I think it was a blouse.
I guess I just couldn't imagine showing up at church dressed like that. I didn't do it when I was a Catholic. Actually, I couldn't see myself wearing that anytime. lol!
It just seemed a little - different. I have to be honest.

Speaking of that tall Brother from Mountian View. One time Elder Harris and I were driving in his truck, and a old woman wearing a bikini roller skated down the side of the road and was passing by us. Elder Harris screams out the window, "WOMAN!!! COVER UP YER HIDE!!! THINK OF YER GRANDCHILDREN!!!" I was hanging out the other side window blowing my lunch.

ROFL!!!! I know and then when you told me the story.. remember I was sitting in the lincoln on the way to dinner after church and you had to tell me the story... well I should have known you were gonna do something when your wife hid in the floorboard....... and then you showed me what you and Bro Harris had done by screaming it again and I about cried I laughed so hard.....
I had a girlfriend of mine with me the next weekend, Tammie and me and her were at the beach in st pete and I had told her the story and she yelled this out the window and I am sure we nearly got shot at least 4 times!!!!!
I still cry......

I have never seen them!!
I did see one woman a few Sunday's in a row that appeared old time Pentecostal and then there are the occasional visitors but I have never really noticed any regulars in bundage.

I'll be honest.....even from my liberal viewpoint, I was a little surprised at that first picture. We do have people show up like this sometimes in the summer, but I wouldn't put a picture of them in a magazine that goes out to a zillion people. JMHO. I'm sure these are great kids in the picture; they just don't think anything about it.
