Re: The Present reign of Jesus Christ

Until death is completely defeated, no one dies anymore, and there is no more sin or evil in this world, we can have hope that the work of Christ on this earth is not completely finished.

Whatever Christ has planned for this earth, our humanity, and His eternal judgment, I have faith He will accomplish it in His own good time.

Until then... I will go on keeping my eye on the eastern skies while believing that we are overcomers with the power He has given us, and fear has no place in the life of those who walk in His power and light.

The first generation most certainly did not fail. If you study the NT closely you will discover the apostolic faith was making inroads in every strata of society, including the Imperial family itself.

The conversion (so called) of Constantine demonstrated that Christianity had so saturated the Empire that not only could it be decriminalised, but the Empire could begin repressing paganism. The spread of the apostasy resulting in catholicism, the rise to power of the bishops of Rome, and the establishment of catholicism as the official religion of the Empire are all part of the prophesied course of events. But they are also a necessary part in the ultimate conquest of mankind by Christ which is still ongoing. Let me demonstrate.

The dominion of papal Rome brought about conditions necessary for people to clearly see Rome's true spiritual condition. This brought on the so called Reformation. Meanwhile, by Christianizing the Empire, and converting all of Europe and western Asia to an acknowledgement of Christ as Sovereign laid the foundation for Western civilization as we know it. Once the Reformation took place, and people everywhere embarked on a back-to- the- Bible movement (with varying degrees of success), entire nations based their entire law codes and social structures on the Bible.

Do you know why we have three branches of government, and a separation of powers? Because the founding fathers understood man is sinful and must be restrained in the exercise of authority. All of modern civilisation has roots in scripture and in God's ways. The world is slowly but definitely being taught the law of God.

This is a long term thing. There are periods of reformation and revival, and periods of declension and backsliding (like we see now). It is a conflict. And like every conflict, there are ups and downs and advances and retreats. There are several prophesied "programs" going on simultaneously that go all the way back to Abraham and even the Garden of Eden. Too often we become myopic, and can't see the forest for the trees. We focus on the here and now and lose track of the big picture. We think OUR particular immediate social issues are THE defining issues of all things. But this is a mistake.

As for understanding the reign of Christ, when understood correctly by the church in general, the church is properly equipped with the correct worldview to be able to deal with whatever issues come up. Look at the state of Christianity in America today. More churches than in all of history, but they have less impact on the culture and community than in all of history. Why? In large measure it is due to not believing the Gospel. What Gospel? The Gospel OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Christ's DOMINION, His REIGN, and everything that entails.

Once people start to get ahold of THAT, it changes how they LIVE. It changes how they view politics, medicine, commerce, religion, education, family, EVERYTHING. And THAT'S how the world gets turned upside down.
Just wanted to apologise for such a negative, doom and gloom post. I'll try to be more positive and post more about holiday decorations or something.

To walk in fear is a sin in itself. Yet there is a false confidence in certain modern beliefs that if not dealt with will lead to fear and unbelief when times get really bad.

If we cleave to and act upon the teachings of Jesus it will get the fear out of us.

Proverbs 3:25-26

Be not afraid of sudden fear neither of the desolation of the wicked when it cometh, for the Lord shall be thy confidence and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

The one thing we must fear is Almighty God.

Re: The Present reign of Jesus Christ

Since Christ is reigning, can we overcome the globohomo tranny-communists currently destroying our nation?

What would that victory look like?

Just wondering.
