stage 4 pancreatic cancer

A dear friend and member of our congregation is in his final stages of pancreatic cancer. I still believe that God is able to heal miraculously, but the hope of it is slowely slipping away. I have seen this man labor to help with church projects go down to skin and bones and it is heartbreaking. I understand that God's will be done, but we are still praying for a miracle. I don't want to keep him around to suffer, but want to see the Lord for a testimony of the power of God. At the this point it is impossible and there is no way for him to recover only God could do such a miracle.

Re: stage 4 pancreatic cancer

Thank you for your prayers. I have not been this close to some one in a battle with cancer before. I have been praying for a miraculous healing ever since it began, but after watching the cancer take its toll my prayers are God's will be done. It is hard to watch someone who you have seen strong and capable go down so low.

Re: stage 4 pancreatic cancer

GS, I am so sorry your friend is having to go through this. My wife used to sing a song in church that had lyrics that said "heaven holds all the answers that time will never tell". There are some things we are just not going to understand here on earth. One of them is why the rightious sometimes suffer.

I am praying for God's will to be done with your friend and that the Holy Spirit will truly be the comforter God promised his Spirit would be for us.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: stage 4 pancreatic cancer

My Dear friend passed away this past Wed. the 14th at 5AM. We had his funeral this past Sunday. As I get older I am becoming more and more sentimental, and funerals are becoming harder and harder. As I know that, I too, am getting closer to that final departure. I will miss this dear saint very much, but I trust in God and his will. Thank all who have prayed for this situation.

So very sorry to hear your friend passed. Always so hard to give up someone we care for and love. But, we know the Good News in that we can see them again one day. God bless you and comfort you Good Samaritan.
