"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

That is like saying "man went swimming, man got wet."
They are supposed to get bit, isn't that what it's about anyway?

I thought it was about having faith that they would not bite you when you handled them. Only if you did get bit does it move on to whether or not God decides you live or die.
I found this article interesting because it has pictures of the actual incident as well as a description of what happened. This young preacher's father, the previous pastor of this church, died of a snake bit in 2014 I believe. Clearly no Rhodes Scholars in this family!

Yep misquoted that scripture, I did.
But I still think interpreting shall take up, as should take up is just plain dumb, and likely to be the providence of persons inhabiting places with very few different last names on the tombstones.
