It is how religion works in its mechanics. While you may be a true believer, through study, research, and spiritual leading. Others are monkey see monkey do. Cults, and religions have the leader, who sets the pattern which the followers imitate him, or her. In the case of these groups their leaders have made predictions that didn't pan out, so the man, or woman behind the curtain was exposed, and the devotees justify their failed leader, and the ones who see the flaw move on. There is a lot more to this whole thing. Where even in true faith disgruntles are looking for any reason to opt out, but instead of leaving they come back to kill those who stay.

Regarding POTUS and Pence (sounds like a comedy show, now on Fox), I heard Potus found out his water was possibly poisoned, and possibly Pence's, so they both moved the bottles out of the way to avoid drinking from them. After all, POTUS has to not only play 12D Chess with the Swampsters, he has to look "normal" while doing it...
