Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Frank and Dean Hattie were married by Harry Morse in 1915. But I cannot prove he was a student, yet.
They pastored in Stockton, at the mission Morse had pastored prior to coming to Oakland. Afterwards, Frank Batchelder pastored the Pentecostal Assembly in Boise, Idaho. They returned to Richmond and retired in Contra Costa.
Looks like they are the first student couple Morse performed a marriage for.
Now we almost know the rest of the story.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
A packet of old tracks and personal notes, along with a theology book, all penned by MR Tatman came in the mail today.
I will sift through the data on my next day off. His conflict with Rev. Durham is spelled out in a tract he wrote. Tatman did not believe the same way William Durham did about a second work.
The eschatology article needs attention. I cannot stand eschatology. But since I have the written eschatology of Morse, Clyde Haney, and now M.R. Tatman, I suppose I will need to compare them and see how they are similar and how they are different.
Tatman was a well travelled evangelist before Azusa Street, and afterwards, continued preaching and teaching. He was baptized in the name of Jesus in 1915. I'm not sure if he was at Arroyo Seco or not.
He was close friends with Harry Morse.
More data to follow on my day off.
Between the Tatman data (courtesy of the AOG archive) and the first student ( Frank Batchelder) it has been a productive few days.

It would be interesting to see how they viewed the end times a century ago. I know you're not into it, but if you wouldn't mind, I'd love it if you'd share the basic outlines of their views.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Those early West Coast Pentecostals believed the San Francisco earthquake and the outpouring at Azusa Street were connected. Toss in a world war with strange new machines and a fascination with Israel and you have a few reasons why they really thought it was the end of the world.
Yes, I need to show some eschatological material....

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
I heard somewhere that G.T. Haywood speculated that Mussolini was the Anti-Christ and that Hitler was the false prophet. I could see how he might come to that conclusion.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Haywood was in Oakland, and he knew MR Tatman. Tatman was a mutual friend of Harry Morse and GT Haywood. But I have no evidence of a relationship between Morse and Haywood.
If Haywood preached for Morse, I would probably have a record of it.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Looks like MR Tatman was a missionary to Japan in 1907. He went with a group of Pentecostals from Seattle. None of them stayed there for long.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
H. L. Ryan was the editor of the Apostolic Light magazine. It was in publication in 1906, out of Seattle, Washington.
Anyone ever hear of this publication ??

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Game acting like that are probably ill.
But during the rut, all bets are off. I would guess he had scent cover of a doe in heat.
I worked most of the gun deer season, but the days I have hunted, the deer have been few. I have yet to put a deer in my crosshairs.
The woods were quiet this morning, this afternoon I will go out again and try and fill a tag.
I did have a good year for trout and waterfowl. After gun deer season is over, I will put out a few traps for fox and fisher.
