Re: What does it mean to be a conservative?

Jito463, I watched your video, just to be sure, and as I inferred, it has nothing to do with what I was talking about. If you were the OP on this thread, then I would have been obliged to focus on the political meanings of the words, but you weren't, so I wasn't...so I didn't. In terms of politics I consider myself a Republican (the only real choice for a conservative) so I agree with much, if not all, of what your man has to say. You might also enjoy "Louder With Crowder" on YouTube. He give one of the best and most entertaining explanations of how free market economics works that I have ever seen.

I would also add that if it were a viable option I would vote Libertarian; liberal on social issues, conservative on fiscal ones. History shows us that when the government gets involved in telling people what Christianity is, real Christians end up dying; social liberalism ensures they will not intrude on the church's business.

Uh, the OP of this thread stated either.

Both or either?

I think the essence of either would be similar though the applications may be different?

The thing you have to realize is that if you have been around this and the previous forum the subject matter or similar has been beat to shreds, buried, dug up and buried again. There is little else to say but have fun with it.

Not true. All politics is the support and eventual enforcement of religion. The question is, always has been, and always will be, "Who's religion?"

So either Christians promote the Word of God, or others will promote the word of their god - whether that be Allah, humanism, paganism, or whatever. The solution is not abandonment or avoiding the issue, but engagement. It is after all the "Great Commission."
