I think among the "holiness movement" from which the modern Pentecostal movement came out of had those among them that espoused that doctrine.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
One set of Morse class notes turned out to be old sermon notes not connected with Morse or the mission.
One more twist to this project. Hopefully, the other set will be found by the owner.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
I am stumped, again.
The Word and Witness magazine dated 12/20/1913 has a list of about 360 ministers.
"Ordained elders, pastors, ministers, evangelists and missionaries of the Church of God in Christ in 1914"
Included are the following names:
Harry Morse Stockton
Frank Ewart Los Angeles
Howard Goss Hot Springs, Arkansas
DCO Opperman Houston, Texas
George Studd Los Angeles
Harry Van Loon Chicago
Fred Poole Los Angeles
WR Potter Inglewood
Louis G Dahl Oakland
This was the year before the revelation. Some of these guys may have been ordained with the AOG as well as the COGIC. Was that possible ? I just found this article, so I have not done any research about it. I hope this means the COGIC historians have data about Morse, Van Loon and the others.
Any thoughts ?

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Harry Morse, Howard Goss, DCO Opperman, Fred Poole and WR Potter were licensed with the COGIC and the AG during the same year. So dual license holders did exist. Interesting.
Van Loon, Studd and Ewart were not in the AG. Not sure why.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Today I learned that the old Northwest District has a periodical called the Northwest News.
Now I need to find some of them to see if Harry Morse had articles in them.
Looks like some old pictures will be coming my way. I will use what I can and sent them to the archives people.
I did one interview with a Mexican Oneness man from a organization I have never heard of. The head of his organization was saved in Oakland a long time ago. A Morse convert ? Time and research will tell.
Some days are more productive than others.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Today I learned more data about MR Tatman. The same for WF Manley. Finding data about Emma Cotton is evasive, but there is a black church in Oakland that was contemporary to the Morse Mission. Hopefully, they will have useful data. At least they reply to emails.
I really need to travel to Oakland. But until then, I think I'll slip on the chest waders and catch a few trout.
But not until the dishes are done.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Since you love history I will share this. Last year I noticed an old camp ground outside Galena, Ks. I talked to a lady living on the grounds and found out they were a splinter of the Sowder's movement. I went back by today and found out this camp was founded by Charles Parham himself it is the first "Pentecostal" camp ground in America. They are having camp meeting the 2nd week in June I might go one service.

Re: Who was Harry Morse ?
Very interesting. Parham's daughter occasionally preached at a church in Stockton. But she never interacted with the Oneness churches there.

Parham said The Lord instructed him to baptize in Jesus Name early on, however after the "new issue" became the issue he reverted back to the trinity formula and would not fellowship them.

It is pretty sad that some early pioneers turned "Judas" on the only name whereby we find salvation.
It would have been better for them to never have known the truth.
