Thnx for the source...

Instead of skirting around the issue, why don't you come up with the magic number that puts the cost of clothing into the costly array category.

No, costly means very expensive which is what Paul was trying to convay.
Like a pair of cowboy boots that go for 15,000.00. That's costly for anyone.

It's call extravagant.

TV 1 I would think it would mean considered costly by the average person Paul was writing to.

Did you read my post? No magic numbers. I got my information from Frobes Magazine, the article is entitled THE MOST EXPESIVE SUITS.

TV1a, do you understand what Forbes Magazine is? Do you know who reads Forbes Magazine? Now if you do understand those people who read Forbes are saying that those prices are EXPENSIVE.

God bless you real good.

I heard Juanita gets the same sort of treatment...Paul would be livid at what is happening and embraced...while some declared they were of Paul he not only fought that spirit he never had mansions here or wealth...he lived with others and spent a lot of time in jails

Well, I understand that you should try to prosper, etc., but that was so far out of these women's range that it was ridiculous. I like a conference alot better where I can relate to the women speaking - ones that have been through similar things and survived.

That being said, I do like her teaching on most things!
I have nothing against believers having some money, but we are not called to prosper in this worlds goods. Our first priority is to be His servants and called OUT of the world. And in fact from what the OT and NT says the only reason we have wealth is to establish HIS kingdom and do HIS work, part of which is to clothe and feed the poor.

I think it's great when I hear and see that these people are not living high on the hog. How far away are we from true Apostolic Christianity when they had ALL things in common, many of us have so little in common. They divided goods to distribute to those that have need. I wish I had the money some of these Pastors of mega churches have to bless othres, however I am not so sure having it would not change me :-(
