Re: Watching TV?

Holiness people don't allow filth to be their source of entertainment, whether it's found on TV, internet, books, smart phones, or their own imaginations.

A person who walks in the Spirit isn't going to need those rules because he/she will always take the high road. When Paul says we are not under the law he means that the law isn't what governs are life, but the Spirit of God. Which of course, keeps the moral part of the law, but it brings light upon the the motivation. We don't need the law when we have the heart of the giver of the law.
But rules are not the cause of one who walks after the Spirit. they just witness of the person's righteousness which is of the Lord. Rule keeping is what I meant. When Paul said we will not violate the laws of God if we walk after the Spirit, He did not mean we will keep rules to get to that place. It's just that the Spirit does not lead people to commit things the rules speak against. It's living a life without getting there by rule keeping that rule-keeping could never get people to reach.

1 Timothy 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

Romans 8:3-4 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: (4) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

1 Timothy 1:14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Exactly. the lifestyle is not the cause but the effect. We don't get good to get God we get God to get good. If someone isn't living a life that is good then I must ask where is God? The rules are somewhat necessary to call out unchristian behaviors that distinguish us from the sinful world. I believe the adversary seeks to destroy us from the inside out. We must hold on to Biblical truths, which the Spirit will lead us to do. The lost see us before they decide to choose Christ and I hope we are letting our light shine. We should not compete to see who is holier than who, but we should be letting our light shine in a lost world that is heading to its demise.

Yes, I would not think you did any thing intentionally. But a warning does come up.

Amen!!!!

Ephesians 5 King James Version (KJV)

5 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth

10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
