I haven't read all of this thread for the different responses, but I like the fact that this forum seems to be on stable footing. FCF wasn't the same after Jim died.
I will have to back Thad a little and say that there needs to be a little more freedom on reporting events both good and bad! If a person is an eye witness, or hears a report from a reliable source, I see no reason to not use names. I see no problem if the poster doesn't add to the story to make it sound juicy! Stick to the facts and nothing but the facts!
If it's a rumor, report it as a rumor!

in some respects we are a haven. I have found this place and its two predisessors to be such, in much the same way PP has.
We need to remember that not everyone out there likes the internet or message boards in general the way the AFF family does! a lot of people look at you like your nuts when you say you are on any message board so I wouldnt get a complex when folk tell you they wont join.
I think there is a general personality thing that lends itself to being on these type of places. you either do or you dont.
then there is the notion that this is read by a lot of people. some just arent comfortable with that idea.
And they really look at you funny when you tell them you are going to dinner to meet someone from a forum - - - lol!!!!!
