I started this thread by just stating that folks should research food combining for themselves in order to avoid a long explanation so I could just post good tasty recipes that anyone can make.
Here is a good site that has what food combining is all about in a short article:
http://www.rawfoodexplained.com/dige...ing-rules.html
The basic idea is to eat in healthy combinations so that you actually get the most from the nutrients and vitamins by not eating bad combinations which just sit in the stomach and rot (which is why people feel sluggish and tired after eating meat (protein) and potatoes (starch) for instance).
Believe me, an adult eating a whole acorn squash with a large salad is full.
Here is a typical day's menu for me:
Breakfast:
4 large oranges
Lunch:
Large salad with almond dressing
Dinner:
Large portion of a protein (maybe fish or a nut like almonds)
and a large salad
Drinking typically 2-3 liters of filtered water per day (drinking water in between meals makes your stomach feel full in between meals).
Food Combining is for people looking to get healthy and/or lose weight without "dieting" (which most people end up putting back on the weight anyway because they don't change their eating habits).
Hope that helps...
